They also tend to have a shorter lifespan than pitched roofs. However, with newer materials like EPDM and high-performance felt, a flat roof can last for over 30 years; this obviously depends on the quality of both materials used and workmanship. One thing to bear in mind though, is that a flat roof cannot provide the space for a dream loft conversion.
